Ako Raukura is an Online Māori Education programme dedicated to revitalising and teaching Te Reo Māori me onā tikanga through structured lessons utilising the Te Ataarangi Method.

Our Services
Te Reo Māori Language Courses
At Ako Raukura, our Te Reo Māori short courses support learners at every stage, from beginners to confident speakers, and are available online and in person. Guided by experienced teachers and rooted in tikanga Māori, our engaging lessons and interactive exercises empower you to speak Te Reo Māori with pride and purpose.
Each course entails lessons [called ‘whiti’] that are designed to advance the learner based on an individual's commitment to learn. There are 49 whiti which can be completed in 13 months. The more lessons completed the more improved understanding, comprehension and skill you will learn to speak te reo Māori. We provide other Te Ao Māori learning environments to complement learning.
Wānanga / Workshops
Participate in one or all of our wānanga / workshops and experience engaging discussions designed to assist you on your Te Reo Māori Journey.
Mātauranga Māori provides context for deeper foundational discussions but it takes time and skill to adapt those ideas into a performance. We provide the opportunities but its up to you from there.

Our new online store, dedicated to celebrating Māori art and fostering Te Reo Māori learning, is opening soon! This exciting platform offers graphic and authentic art pieces from Māori artists including beautiful greenstone pieces and one-of-a-kind kaupapa Māori paintings.
Designed hoodies, t-shirts and authentic Ako Raukura Kākahu alongside a comprehensive range of Te Reo Māori course books, workbooks, and supplementary resources are available.
